What Does It Mean to Ethically and Sustainably Source Herbs

When it comes to sourcing ingredients for your products, ethical sourcing is an important consideration. Ethical sourcing means that the materials used in production are sourced from suppliers who adhere to fair labor and environmental practices. This ensures that the product you’re selling has been created ethically and sustainably, with respect for people and planet alike.

Harvesting herbs ethically involves understanding where they come from, how they're grown or collected, and ensuring their safety throughout harvesting processes. It also includes respecting local laws regarding land use rights as well as any regulations related to wild-harvesting of plants or other natural resources. When purchasing herbs from a supplier, Thymeless Healing contacts the suppliers that are used to find out that herbs are harvested legally without damaging its habitat or impacting endangered species in any way possible .

Sustainable sourcing habits involve making conscious decisions when selecting sources of supply - such as considering factors like transparency around labor conditions and supporting small scale farmers/producers etc. Many do not think about the labor aspect of ethically sourcing herbs, which is a large part of the topic at hand. You do not want to source herbs sustainably

and find later that child labor was used to harvest these herbs. Sustainable practices ensure long term sustainability while still providing high quality products at competitive prices! When Thymeless Healing started I owned a farm. On this farm there was a 10,000 sq. Ft. This is where many herbs were started by seed and grown naturally with no pesticides or synthetic chemicals. I knew as the business scaled I may not be able to do that forever. I made it a point to make connections and meet with each supplier to talk about their practices, not only on how a herb was grown but equally as important was how it was harvested. Some people do not think of the child labor that is used in parts of the world to harvest herbs.Ethically sourced and grown herbs is a big deal for Thymeless Healing and will not be compromised.
